Inmate dies at Northern Nevada Correctional Center

An inmate at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center died Monday.

The inmate, who had been at the corrections center since April 2009 serving an 8- to 20-year sentence for burglary in Clark County, had “been ill for some time,” prison officials said. No foul play is suspected.

The identity of the man was not released as officials had been unable to contact the man’s next of kin.

The man is the third inmate to die at the Norther Nevada Correctional Center this month.

Larry Peck was found unresponsive in his cell Oct. 4 and taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

Richard Ferst was found dead in his cell the following day, Oct. 5. Officials said that foul play was not suspected in either death.
