It seemed as if everyone had something to say at Palin rally
Overheard, seen, yelled or scrawled on signs at Sarah Palin's rally Tuesday at the Henderson Pavilion:
•"I mean, people keep coming. It's unbelievable." A woman talking on a pink cell phone while standing near the back of the line, which stretched more than a mile from the front door.
•"Phil the electrician." A sign.
•"Wendy, the plumber's daughter." Another sign.
•"I'm amazed he's a senator." One woman to another as they stood in line chatting about Barack Obama's experience in politics.
•"Wooooo!" Numerous people, in line, at the rally, afterward on the way out, from their cars in traffic, etc.
•"T-shirts! T-shirts! T-shirts!" A man, baseball game style, hawking McCain-Palin gear in line.
•"Get your buttons here!" Another hawker, wandering into stopped traffic.
•"Do you want a vice president with no experience or a president with no experience?" A guy in line shouting to no one in particular.
•"I say send Obama to Osama." Another line shouter.
•Kettle Korn, $5, at a booth near the front door.
•A hot dog and a bottled Pepsi inside, $5.50.
•"Read my lipstick." A campaign button pinned to a woman's shirt.
•"She can be anything she wants to be." Donna Rendon, 43, about her 12-year-old daughter, Lisa, whom she took to the event.
•"Except a Democrat." Lisa, the daughter.
• "Our ho trumps your bro." A small sign pinned to a woman's T-shirt.
•"9 year olds for McCain." A sign being painted by a little boy in line.
•"Osama," which is cros-sed out on a sign, followed by "Obama. What's the difference?"
•"Our mama beats your Obama." A T-shirt.
•"If Obama gets elected, we're done. You gotta fire 'em up. Fire 'em up! Fire 'em up!" A line shouter.
•"No socialism." A line chant.
•"Got a brain? Vote McCain." The all-day-long chant of a chubby little boy in line and inside the rally.
•"Vote for Cuda." A T-shirt, referencing Palin's popular nickname "Sarah Barracuda."
•"Hell, they'll vote four or five times." An elderly man, chatting in line.
•"We're trying to get the kids more involved." Michele Scovil, 41, who took her 13-year-old son and two other 13-year-old boys to the rally, despite her having a broken ankle.
• "Sar-ah. Sar-ah. Sar-ah." A chant inside the Pavilion one hour before Palin stepped on stage.
• "Saturday Night Live loves Sarah. So do we." A sign.
• "Let's go. Let's go. Let's go." A McCain volunteer while trying to rip an Obama sign from a guy who apparently snuck into the rally.
• "This is a public place." The Obama sign guy, just before he was kicked out with the OK of a Secret Service agent.
• "She's Not Just a Pretty Face." A Shania Twain song playing as the crowd made its way out the gates.
• "She's gorgeous." One teenage girl to another as they were on their way out.
•"Vote McCain. Not Hussein." An ongoing chant outside after the rally as a small group of Obama supporters crashed the party. A cop on a horse kept the two groups separated.
• "You wake up! You are hypnotized!" A woman's increasingly loud screams to the small group of Obama supporters.
• "Feed ACORN to the squirrels." A man, also yelling to the Obama supporters.
