Jones improves to 8-0 with unanimous victory

Johnny Jones of Rochester, N.Y., comes in with a 7-0 record, but facing Las Vegas-based veteran Stephan Bonnar (14-4) could be his biggest test in this light heavyweight bout.

FIRST ROUND: Jones lands a knee, then with 3:45 left he uses a left-side throw to put Bonnar on his back and follows with a few heavy fists. Bonnar gets back to his fight and Jones repeats the throw. Bonnar escapes and they're back to stand up.

Good left body kick by Jones.

Jones in control and adds another throw. With 1:25 to go, Jones lands a big right cross that drops Bonnar. Jones takes control on the ground while Bonnar tries to regroup.

Big left knee to Bonnar's head with 15 seconds left.

Wolf says: Jones big, maybe 10-8.

SECOND ROUND:

Jones resumes controlling Bonnar, who did manage a good kick. With a minute to go, the fighters are in a clinch along the fence. Bonnar, to his credit, is not backing away. Jones just seems too quick.

Jones with another side body toss with about 30 second left.

Wolf says: A lackluster round to Jones.

THIRD ROUND: Bonnar came close to getting an arm bar from the bottom, but Jones escapes and regains control.

Jones playing defense and dancing away from any Bonnar offense.
