Judges might be a little safer thanks to the R-J
Judges can feel a little safer walking into the Regional Justice Center from their covered parking lot across the street.
County officials finally got around to removing tall bushes that lined a cement wall on each side of the Clark Avenue entrance to the parking lot.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported back on July 6 that the bushes, which had potential to shield a would-be assailant, posed a threat to courthouse security.
They were among several security flaws spotted by the newspaper.
Courthouse officials have yet to figure out what to do with cameras perched above the parking lot that are obstructed by the metal canopy.
Trees also continue to block surveillance camera views outside the main entrance to the Regional Justice Center on Lewis Avenue.
