Jury indicts man in 2006 shooting death of teen

A Clark County grand jury indicted one of two men authorities believe are responsible for the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in February 2006.

Victor Hugo Gamboa was killed after a street fight outside the Morris Academy, on Washington Avenue near Pecos Road.

Las Vegas police believe Evaristo "Chucky" Garcia, 20, pulled the trigger and Manuel "Puppet" Lopez, 22, gave Garcia the gun. Both men are believed to be members of the Puros Locos gang.

Lopez was arrested earlier this month and indicted this week. Garcia was arrested in October 2008.

Garcia and Lopez are set to appear in District Court on Thursday. They are both charged with murder with a deadly weapon. Lopez also faces a conspiracy charge.

Both defendants remained in custody with no bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

A third defendant, Giovanny Garcia, in October 2006 pleaded guilty to conspiracy for egging on Evaristo Garcia to shoot Gamboa as he ran away. Giovanny Garcia was given three years probation.
