Jury picked in bombing trial
A jury was selected Thursday for the trial of two men charged in a fatal bombing at the Luxor.
Omar Rueda-Denvers and Porfirio Duarte-Herrera could face the death penalty if they are convicted of first-degree murder.
The jury, including two alternates, is made up of 13 women and one man. It took four days to select the panel from a pool of 125 candidates.
Opening statements will begin today in District Judge Michael Villani's courtroom.
The two men are accused of building and planting a homemade bomb inside a Luxor parking garage that killed Willebaldo Dorantes Antonio in 2007.
Authorities say Dorantes Antonio, a 24-year-old employee at Nathan's Famous hot dog restaurant in the Luxor food court, was targeted because he was in a relationship with Rueda-Denvers' ex-girlfriend.
