Jury to begin deliberating killer’s fate

Clark County District Court jury will start deliberating today on whether to sentence to death a man convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of a 33-year-old mentally retarded woman.
Cornelius Rogers, 42, was convicted on Dec. 21 of killing Julie Holt during a burglary at her home in Henderson in 2001.
The jury was given the case about 6 p.m. Friday after hearing closing arguments about which sentence to hand down.
