Kingman pedestrian, 75, dies after being struck
KINGMAN, Ariz. — A 75-year-old pedestrian struck by a Kingman Fire Department staff vehicle Monday morning died Wednesday.
The woman, identified as Emily MacDonald, suffered severe head injuries and died later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Kingman police said witnesses reported that MacDonald was crossing Stockton Hill Road while the “Do Not Cross” sign was flashing red when she was struck by a pickup driven by Battalion Chief Bill Johnston, who also serves as the Fire Department’s spokesman.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said Johnston was pulling out of the parking lot of the Kingman Regional Medical Center with a green light when he turned left and collided with MacDonald just before 9:30 a.m.
No citations were issued and the accident remained under investigation.
