Las Vegas cleanup events set in March

The first of three scheduled Great Las Vegas Cleanup events will take place today in the Arts District, where volunteers will pick up and sort litter as part of the Great American Cleanup organized by Keep America Beautiful.

Check-in is at 9:30 a.m. at 107 E. Charleston Blvd. It lasts until noon.

Other scheduled cleanup dates are:

■ 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 27 at Tule Springs. Volunteers can check in at the corner of Decatur Boulevard and Iron Mountain Road.

■ 10 a.m. to noon April 10 in Vegas Heights. Volunteers should meet at the corner of Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards.

The Great American Cleanup runs through the end of May and other neighborhoods can schedule events. For more information, call 229-2330.
