A 60-year-old Las Vegas man was pronounced dead Thursday evening after crashing his pickup truck into a tree, police said.

About 5:47 p.m., the man was westbound in the right lane of Lake Mead Boulevard in a 2005 Ford F150 but left the roadway to the north, hitting a tree about 175 feet west of Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas police said.

The driver was taken to Summerlin Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld by authorities Thursday night. It appears he might have suffered a medical episode, police said.
