McALLEN, Texas -- A Las Vegas man was caught trying to smuggle animal tranquilizers believed to be for use in assisted suicides into the U.S. from Mexico, and authorities there want to question him about the death of a U.S. woman found in a hotel.
Jeff George Ostfeld was detained at the Progreso International Bridge on Monday and is scheduled to appear before a federal judge Friday. His court-appointed attorney did not return calls for comment.
“JPMC does not close accounts for political or religious reasons,” a bank spokesperson said. “We do close accounts because they create legal or regulatory risk for the company.”
