Las Vegas man won’t contest extradition in father’s slaying
A 54-year-old Las Vegas man agreed not to fight his transfer in custody to California to face trial in the slaying of his father, a World War II fighter pilot.
A court clerk said Mark Christian told a judge Monday that he won't contest his extradition.
That gives California authorities 30 days to take custody. Christian faces murder and other charges in San Bernardino County in the slaying of James Christian, 74. The body was found in the San Bernardino Mountains two years ago.
Mark Christian pleaded guilty in Las Vegas to federal fraud charges earlier this year and awaits sentencing for collecting $79,000 in veterans benefits in his father's name.
