Laughlin man found dead in Colorado River

The 24-year-old Nevada man who went missing in the Colorado River near Laughlin on Friday afternoon has been found dead, Las Vegas police said.

He was identified as Lee Patrick Garcia of Laughlin, according to The Associated Press.

While earlier reports said the man never resurfaced after cliff diving about 1:30 p.m., Las Vegas police could not confirm that and said there were conflicting statements that he had been swimming or floating in the river at the time of his disappearance.

A dive team found the body less than a mile from Big Bend State Park, where he was last seen. The body was pulled from the river about 3 p.m.
