Lueders selected as new director for Nevada BLM office

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has named a new director for its Nevada office.

Amy Lueders, currently acting director of the office, will be its new director starting Monday.

Lueders served as the BLM's Nevada associate state director from 2004 to 2010. She began her career with the agency in 1984 in Washington, D.C., as an economist. Before coming to Nevada, Lueders worked as the BLM's field manager in Las Cruces, N.M.

Bob Abbey, BLM director, announced the move.

"Amy brings myriad talents and a wealth of experience to one of the most demanding positions in the BLM," Abbey said.
