LV police detain four after man wounded

A man was shot several times and critically wounded Tuesday afternoon near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

Las Vegas police said they were called to the 1200 block of Reed Place about 2 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found a man in his late 20s to early 30s with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, Lt. Craig Klatt said. The victim was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw a suspect run west into a home near N Street and Morgan Avenue. Four male subjects were detained and handcuffed, Klatt said.

Klatt said the victim and the people who were detained are linked to gangs.

The name of the victim was not released.
