Maloof sister set for series premiere

Former Las Vegan Adrienne Maloof stays above the drama in Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," which premieres tonight at 10.

"She's the mediator, the peacemaker, the voice of reason," her brother Gavin Maloof said Wednesday, during halftime of the Los Angeles Lakers-Sacramento Kings pre-season game at the Thomas & Mack Center.

One of the six housewives, she joins former child stars Kim and Kyle Richards, aunts of Paris and Nicky Hilton; Kelsey Grammer's ex-wife Camille Grammer; British restaurateur Lisa VenderPump; and Taylor Armstrong, wife of a venture capitalist.

"There's a lot of drama, so stay tuned," said Gavin Maloof, the oldest brother in the family.

The housewives invade the Palms in episode three.

Gavin Maloof said his sister became one of the top tennis players in New Mexico and family snitch.

"When our parents left town, we'd throw parties at our house, and they'd find out," Gavin Maloof said.

Brother Joe jumped in: "We could never figure out how they found out so quickly. She was the snitch."

As the only sister, her brothers bedeviled her with a steady stream of nicknames.

After the "Rocky" movies came out, she quickly grew tired of hearing her brothers' bad impressions of Rocky Balboa's "Yo, Adrienne," Joe Maloof said.

She lived in Spanish Trails for about eight months in the 1980s, Palms owner George Maloof said.

She had the toughest time, he said, when family patriarch George J. Maloof died at age 57 in November 1980.

"She was the closest to him," he said.
