Man, 87, killed in northwest Arizone house fire
KINGMAN, Ariz. — A Fort Mohave man perished in a fire that destroyed his home in northwest Arizona Wednesday.
The name of the 87-year-old victim was withheld pending notification of kin.
Terry Thomas, battalion chief of the Mohave Valley Fire Department, said crews responded to the home in the 4500 block of Calle Ranchita just before 2 p.m. He said the body was found in the kitchen.
Cause of the fire was ruled accidental.
Thomas said the fire marshal determined that electrical wiring in a chair in the home sparked the blaze. The chair was equipped to help a person rise from a seated position.
