Man arrested, accused of kidnapping attempt

A 38-year-old man was arrested Thursday near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Lamb Boulevard after he attempted to kidnap a woman and then tried to lure a girl into his pickup, Las Vegas police said.

Jesus Herrera Fierro of Las Vegas faces one count each of attempted first-degree kidnapping and annoyance of a minor.

Police said Herrera Fierro failed to pull a woman into his Ford F-150 pickup. Shortly afterward, he drove to a bus stop and tried to lure a girl into his pickup by offering her a ride. Police did not reveal how old the girl was and said only that she was a minor.

Herrera Fierro drives a green pickup with Nevada license plates. Anyone with information concerning Herrera Fierro is asked to contact the Las Vegas police Sexual Assault Detail at 828-3307 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
