Man arrested in Mandalay Bay garage sex assault case

A 23-year-old man was arrested earlier this week and charged with sexually assaulting an intoxicated 18-year-old woman in a Mandalay Bay parking garage on Sunday, according to a Las Vegas police report.

Juan Teutle-Ramirez, of Las Vegas, was arrested Monday on multiple charges, including: sexual assault with a deadly weapon; battery with intent to commit sexual assault; kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon; and robbery with a deadly weapon.

According to the report, Teutle-Ramirez told police he was under the influence of crystal methamphetamine when he approached an intoxicated 18-year-old girl as she slept in her vehicle, parked on the third floor of a Mandalay Bay parking garage.

The victim had opened a door to vomit and did not lock it again. Teutle-Ramirez saw her, climbed into the backseat, pulled out a knife and raped her, according to the police report.

He also punched the victim repeatedly in the face, the report said.

Teutle-Ramirez told police that he pulled the knife to keep the girl from fighting him.

“...He thought it would be ‘easy’,” Teutle-Ramirez told the police, according to the report.

The suspect fled the scene after the victim’s friend came to the vehicle.

Police were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle after reviewing surveillance videos from the parking garage.

The victim was able to identify the suspect by his teeth, which were crooked, black and chipped, the report said.
