Man critically injured in Laughlin accident

A man was in critical condition after being hit by a car in Laughlin on Thursday.

The 21-year-old Bullhead City, Ariz., resident was squatting in the middle of Bruce Woodbury Drive near Thomas Edison Drive when he was hit by a Lexus about 6 a.m., according to Las Vegas police.

The pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk in a rural area without streetlights, police said.

He was flown to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and remained in critical condition early Thursday evening.

The driver of the Lexus remained on scene and was not suspected of being impaired, police said.
