Man falls six floors at Laughlin hotel

A man fell six floors from a Laughlin hotel room while trying to hide from police Thursday night.

Las Vegas police said officers were called about 7 p.m. on a report of suspicious activity in a room on the sixth floor of the Colorado Belle hotel-casino.

When police went to the room, a person climbed out the window and hid by holding onto an air-conditioning unit or similar structure, Lt. Les Lane said.

Lane said police didn't know whether the man, who was not identified, intentionally let go or lost his grip. He plummeted six floors to a landscaped area, rolled and fell another six feet onto a concrete surface.

He was taken to a hospital in Bullhead City, Ariz., where he was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital. His condition was critical.

Lane said investigators thought the man was wanted on out-of-state warrants.
