Man found dead in burning home identified

A man found dead in a burning Las Vegas home Thursday has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Eddie Morell Heckard.

The cause of the 42-year-old Las Vegas resident's death is still pending.

Las Vegas police were called to Heckard's house on J Street around 4 p.m. Thursday. When officers neared, they saw the house was on fire and found Heckard's body inside.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide by Las Vegas police.
