Man hit by SUV at Pahrump Nugget dies

A man lost control of his SUV in the Pahrump Nugget parking lot and ran over another man, who later died, the Nye County sheriff's office said Tuesday.

The accident occurred about 10:15 a.m.

The sheriff's office said the 77-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Blazer struck three cars and ran over the man. The 42-year-old victim was entering his vehicle with his wife when he was hit by the Blazer. The Blazer stopped after it struck a casino wall.

The victim died at a hospital. The driver also was hospitalized.

The incident is under investigation.
