Man indicted in UNLV student’s death

The man accused of killing a UNLV student in a drunken driving crash was indicted this week on one count of causing a death while driving under the influence.

A Clark County grand jury indicted Vladimir Lagerev, 45, Tuesday in the death of 18-year-old Lindsay Bennett.

Authorities said Lagerev was driving the wrong direction on April 15 and his vehicle collided with Bennett's on the Las Vegas Beltway near Windmill Avenue. His blood alcohol level was 0.2 about 90 minutes after the crash. The legal limit in Nevada is 0.08.

Lagerev is being held at the county jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 27.
