Man injured in condo garage blast
A man sustained "traumatic" injuries in explosions at his home late Wednesday night, according to the Las Vegas Fire Department.
Neighbors in a condominium complex near Washington Avenue and Cimarron Road reported hearing two loud explosions shortly after 10 p.m.
Firefighters forced their way through a garage door and found the man bleeding and with "severe traumatic injuries."
He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
The man told investigators he was working in the garage, possibly with a torch, when there was a minor explosion. He then ran into the house and closed the door behind him, preventing smoke from entering the unit.
The cause of the explosion was still unknown this morning.
The explosion caused an estimated $20,000 in damage.
