Man killed in crash on Beltway near U.S. 95 interchange
A 40-year-old man died Friday after the Dodge pickup he was driving overturned on the Las Vegas Beltway in the southeast valley.
Witnesses saw the driver, who was headed east on Interstate 215 about 3:40 p.m., crash into the rear of a Nissan Maxima at the freeway's interchange with U.S. Highway 95, said trooper Kevin Honea, a spokesman for the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Witnesses said the pickup was traveling fast when it hit the Maxima, veered to the left and onto the raised center median, then flipped, Honea said. Medical personnel pronounced the driver of the Dodge dead at the scene of the crash.
The female driver of the Nissan was treated for minor injuries at the scene, Honea said.
