Man killed in I-15 crash
A two-vehicle wreck left a 49-year-old man dead and Interstate 15 shut down for hours Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred after a Ford van traveling south on I-15 near Craig Road left the roadway onto the right shoulder for an unknown reason, said Trooper Kevin Honea of the Nevada Highway Patrol. The driver overcorrected and drove across the southbound lanes, ending up in the median.
Once there, the van began heading north in the southbound lanes, Honea said. One vehicle avoided it, but the next one, a tractor trailer, could not, and the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene, Honea said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
