Man killed in parking lot identified

The man who was fatally shot Saturday morning at a Walgreens' parking lot on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Decatur Boulevard was identified as 36-year-old Marty Devone James Jacobs.

The Clark County coroner's office was unable to provide a city of residence for Jacobs.

Las Vegas police said Jacobs was shot about 8:20 a.m. while sitting in a Lexus sedan. According to police, Jacobs was confronted by another man, described by witnesses as a 6-foot, 2-inch black man weighing about 260 pounds and wearing dark jeans and a red sweatshirt with black and white stripes on the sleeves.

Police said the two argued, which led to the shooting. Jacobs tried to drive away but crashed into a landscaped area. He died at the scene.

The gunman fled north into a residential area.
