Man killed in scooter crash

A 58-year-old North Las Vegas man riding a scooter died Thursday after his scooter collided with a trailer being towed by a truck on Decatur Boulevard south of Vegas Drive, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the deceased man was not released.

Police said the accident occurred about 4:16 p.m. while the scooter and truck were both northbound on Decatur. Police said the North Las Vegas man on the scooter changed lanes and then struck the trailer. He was transported to University Medical Center where he died.

The driver of the truck was identified by police as 26-year-old Robert Keyse of Las Vegas. The collision remains under investigation.
