Man killed in Tuesday traffic accident

A 52-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday night.

Las Vegas police said the accident happened about 8:49 p.m. at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Duneville Street in the southwest valley.

Kenneth S. Lippman was traveling west on Tropicana when he attempted a left-hand turn onto Duneville, police said.

His 2005 Honda Accord was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Richard Houle, 61.

Lippman was pronounced dead at the scene. Houle was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries, police said.

The incident was the 70th fatal accident in the Police Department's jurisdiction this year. The accident remains under investigation.
