Man killed while doing road work identified

The road worker struck and killed by a motorist on Feb. 20 has been identified as James Philip Wilson Jr., a 35-year-old Las Vegas man.

Wilson was trying to unload a ladder from a utility truck, which was parked on Cactus Avenue near Decatur Boulevard, when he was struck by an eastbound sedan, according to Las Vegas police.

Police said the driver, Matthew Weber, 30, of Las Vegas, was on his way to work when he ran over several traffic cones blocking access to the left travel lane on Cactus.
