Man sentenced for killing 7-month-old granddaughter

A 50-year-old man accused of killing his 7-month-old granddaughter in Boulder City was sentenced today to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 10 years.

District Judge Donald Mosley sentenced Ray Jenks for killing Alyssa Jenks in 2007. Jenks pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree murder in connection with her case.

The Department of Family Services had investigated Alyssa's family for suspected abuse or neglect prior to her death.
