Man shot in car while sitting in traffic
A man was shot and killed while waiting in traffic on Owens Avenue near Martin L. King Boulevard this morning.
Las Vegas police said the man, whose name was not released, was stopped westbound on Owens.
At 8:48 a.m., another man who was waiting in traffic got out of a car, walked up to the victim’s vehicle, and fired several rounds in the driver’s side window, according to police.
The suspect then “calmly” walked back to his vehicle, made a U-turn, and fled eastbound on Owens, police said. The vehicle is described as a white 2000 Chevrolet Malibu with a black bra on the front. Its license plate is Las Vegas commemorative plate number 22G6.
When officers arrived, they found the victim sitting in the driver’s seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
As investigators processed the scene, a red, four-door Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was facing westbound on Owens, the driver’s side window shot out and glass littering the roadway.
