Man struck, killed on Boulder Highway

A 65-year-old Las Vegas man was struck and killed while crossing Boulder Highway on Tuesday morning.

Las Vegas police said the man was in a marked crosswalk north of Kentucky Avenue, near Russell Road, when he was hit by a 2001 Chevrolet pickup that was driving north on Boulder Highway.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was identified as 52-year-old Wayne Morgan of Henderson. Police said he failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrian. The incident remains under investigation.

The 6:17 a.m. incident temporarily closed the northbound lanes of the road.
