Man to testify against another in 2008 slaying

Yeshua Rosas, charged in connection with an April 2008 slaying, agreed earlier this week to testify against his co-defendant, Jose Fernandez.

The 28-year-old Rosas pleaded guilty to accessory to murder, false imprisonment with use of a deadly weapon and battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm in the death of Salvador Gonzalez.

In exchange for his testimony, the Clark County district attorney's office has dropped murder and conspiracy charges against Rosas, according to court records.

Gonzalez, a convicted drug-dealer, was stabbed to death and his body was found on Mount Charleston. Authorities allege Fernandez killed Gonzalez with help from Rosas, according to court documents.

A trial for Fernandez is scheduled May 3. The 31-year-old is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Rosas is scheduled to be sentenced May 5.

Both defendants are in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.
