Man who died in motorcycle crash ID’d by Highway Patrol

The man who died after losing control of his motorcycle Friday on U.S. Highway 95 near Durango Drive was identified Wednesday by the Nevada Highway Patrol as 46-year-old Melvin Manglona.

The incident occurred about 8:55 p.m. while Manglona was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson on southbound U.S. 95, south of Durango, according to the Highway Patrol.

As Manglona switched lanes to pass a slower vehicle, he began to wobble and lose control.

According to the Highway Patrol, Manglona was thrown from his motorcycle.

He was then transported to University Medical Center, where he died.
