Man who fell from Laughlin hotel identified
A man critically injured when he fell six stories from the Colorado River Belle in Laughlin was identified Friday as David Clary, 42, of Mohave Valley, Ariz.
Clary, who was being treated at a Las Vegas hospital, was wanted for an unknown crime in California and as a person of interest in an attempted murder in Kingman, Ariz.
Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell said hotel security visited a room about 7 p.m. because of a suspicious amount of people and telephone traffic and noise. Clary hid outside the room while security talked with others inside.
Clary fell six floors after he lost his grip while clinging to an air-conditioning unit or window sill structure, police said. He landed on landscaping before falling another six feet onto concrete.
Cassell said narcotics were found in the room.
The Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Kingman said Clary is wanted for an unknown crime in Riverside County, Calif.
Sheriff Tom Sheahan said detectives from his department also planned to visit Clary in Las Vegas because he is a "person of interest" in a Tuesday shooting in Fort Mohave.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said Timothy Johnson, 29, of Fort Mohave, was critically injured when he was shot in the abdomen. He was flown to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment.
