McCarran parking garage blocked off for suspicious package

A portion of a long-term parking garage at McCarran International Airport was blocked off Thursday while a suspicious package was inspected and found harmless.

Las Vegas police Lt. Glaude said the package was found in the bed of a pickup around 11:30 a.m. The truck, parked on Level 3 of the garage, had anti-presidential messages on it.

The all-hazard ARMOR unit responded to inspect the package, which airport spokesman Chris Jones said resembled a military shell. A portion of Level 3 was blocked, but the garage was not evacuated.

The package was cleared by 1 p.m.
