McCarran traffic drops 15.7 percent in January

Traffic at McCarran International Airport was down 15.7 percent in January to 3 million arrivals and departures, the Clark County Department of Aviation reported today.

It's yet another double-digit drop in one of the primary indicators for the Las Vegas tourism industry.

Four out of the top five airlines at the airport carried fewer people to Las Vegas in January 2009 than during the same month last year.

US Airways led the decline with a 35.5 percent decrease.
