MetroPCS goes national

Dallas-based MetroPCS Wireless, the flat-rate, no-contract, pay-as-you-go mobile carrier with a strong Las Vegas presence, has gone nationwide. The company said today that its customers will have coverage in more than 90 percent of the United States.

Metro USA nationwide service will give customers access to unlimited talk, text and Web services, with rate plans between $40 and $60 per month, depending on optional services selected. Rate plans include all taxes and fees.

"Metro USA is yet another key milestone for our company as we have expanded nearly everywhere where our customers may use their service in the majority of the United States," MetroPCS Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Roger Linquist said in a statement.

MetroPCS has also expanded its 4G network to include customers in Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
