Michelle Obama, daughters visit Las Vegas

First lady Michelle Obama and her two daughters were visiting Las Vegas Wednesday night as part of a family trip out West, according to the White House.

Earlier Wednesday, Obama, Malia and Sasha visited Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

There's no Mount Rushmore replica on the Strip, but the first family might get a glimpse of a fake Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty if they take in the sights. No details of their plans were available.

"Mrs. Obama and her daughters are taking a private family trip to the western United States," said Kristina Schake, the first lady's communications director.

A week ago, President Barack Obama was in Southern Nevada to visit a solar plant outside Boulder City. It was his eighth trip to the Silver State since his 2008 election. He's sure to be back several times before the November election when he hopes to win the state a second time.
