Henderson event honors U.S. vets

Henderson will have its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Henderson Events Plaza Amphitheater, next to the Veterans Memorial Wall and City Hall.

Col. Barry Cornish, commander of the 99th Air Base Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, will be the keynote speaker. Cornish is a command pilot with more than 2,200 flying hours and is a graduate of the Air Force Weapons School.

The Basic High School Marine Corps JROTC will present the colors and read the names to be added to the memorial wall this year. The Henderson Symphony Orchestra will provide a musical tribute to veterans and the armed forces.
