Missing woman found safely

A woman Las Vegas police initially believed had been kidnapped was safely located tonight, said Officer Bill Cassell, a spokesman with Las Vegas police. Adriana Ortiz, 20, told police she had never been in harm’s way.

Cassell said witnesses told police it appeared Ortiz had been kidnapped. Earlier today, police said she was seen being forced into a brown 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Cassell said police are still piecing together information

“From the beginning, we thought this woman was in extreme danger,” Cassell said. “It does appear that at this time there was no kidnapping involved. We don’t know exactly what was going on. She claims she was never in any danger. She wasn’t forced against her will. Bottom line is it’s a good outcome.”
