More Bing bling

The more I use Bing, the more fun stuff I discover.

The image on the Bing.com home page changes daily, and each one has several clickable hot spots that are visible as you mouse-over the photo. Today's photo shows a beautiful mountain scene from Denali National Park. Small, pop-up boxes with info and links to more information add an element of serendipity to the Web experience.

There's an archive of recent front page photos, but you'll be prompted to install the latest version of Microsoft's SilverLight browser plug-in to view them.

The bottom of the home page also features links to the "Most Popular" search terms and links to videos showing some of the behind-the-scenes happenings with the Bing team.

Another fun spot caught my attention today as I was writing my next column, featuring several Webby Award-winning sites. The wordle.net site turns users into graphic artists, using text to create interesting visual images. I took several paragraphs of my previous blog post and pasted it into the window.
