Motorcycle crash leaves rider in critical condition

A man was transported to the hospital in critical condition after crashing his motorcycle on State Route 159 Sunday night.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the scene near Avery Street about 6:45 p.m., according to NHP trooper Loy Hixson.

The man was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition, Hixson said, and parts of State Route 159 will be partially closed while NHP investigates.
