Motorcyclist killed in crash on Blue Diamond

A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Pahrump died early Monday after being struck by a woman who might have been driving under the influence on State Route 160, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Trooper Kevin Honea identified the deceased man as Randy Harris. He said the collision occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Blue Diamond Road near El Capitan Way.

Honea said a 27-year-old woman driving a Mazda Tribute hit Harris while she was attempting to turn south onto El Capitan.

Harris was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Honea said the woman failed a field sobriety test and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He said the results of the woman’s drug tests are pending and that her name will be released at a later time.
