Mutual stabbing ends with one man dead, one arrested

A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Friday stabbing death of another man, according to a Las Vegas arrest report obtained Tuesday.

Victor Angel Gonzalez was arrested and charged with murder with a deadly weapon in the slaying of 41-year-old Osman Dominguez-Vega.

According to the report, Gonzalez told police that he, Dominguez-Vega and a woman were drinking in his apartment at 1111 S. Casino Center Blvd., near Charleston Boulevard, when Gonzalez "decided to test his friend" by hanging $20 from his pocket.

From a reflection in a mirror, Gonzalez saw Dominguez-Vega take the money and confronted him, he told police.

The men began arguing, and Dominguez-Vega took the woman and went to his own apartment, which was next door, the report said.

The woman told police she followed Dominguez-Vega to his apartment, where he grabbed a knife and returned to Gonzalez's front door.

She thought "they might have been arguing over her," she told police, and tried to take the knife from Dominguez-Vega.

Gonzalez told police he saw Dominguez-Vega push the woman through a window. He said he then took a decorative knife from another room and joined Dominguez-Vega on the balcony. An argument ensued, and the two men stabbed each other, the report said.

Gonzalez, who was cut in the arm, later called 911, the report said. Both men were transported to University Medical Center.

Dominguez-Vega, who was stabbed in the chest, died later at the hospital.

After the interview, Gonzalez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
