Burglary suspect shoots, kills Arkansas deputy officer

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed on Friday in rural Johnson County by a burglary suspect, law enforcement officials said.

The incident occurred near Clarksville, a city of about 9,300 people roughly 100 miles northwest of the state capital Little Rock.

The name of the slain deputy was not immediately released, the officials said.

The suspect in the shooting has been taken into custody, local media reports said.
