Pierce the Veil plays Jillian's

They've aptly titled their latest album "A Flair for the Dramatic," and no one will accuse moody San Diego screamo contingent Pierce the Veil of false advertising: The disc contains more melodrama than a thousand teen romances.

Speaking of which, young love gone painfully awry is a prime catalyst of the band's artfully anthemic outbursts, colored by slashing guitars and lots of sore throats.

Love hurts ... really, really bad, apparently.

See the band at 6 p.m. at Jillian's, 450 Fremont St. Tickets are $12; call 759-0450.
