Liquid Cheese
flows into town
They fancy themselves the Parliament of ska, and like George Clinton's motley crew of misfits, Liquid Cheese is awash in funky incongruities.
A wild-eyed, reggae-inflected troupe that borrows from the Tejano and norteño music traditions prevalent in its native El Paso, Texas, the band's broad, pan-cultural swing adds still more breadth to a genre posited on its permeability.
See the group at 6 p.m. at the University Theatre, 4737 S. Maryland Parkway. Call 898-5500.
